In computer science, a transistorized computer is an electronic computer which uses transistors. The transistorization of electronic computers enabled manufacturers to build much more powerful computing machines than the pretransistorization era. Transistorization was a key factor in the success of the modern digital electronic computer. The integration era of the integrated circuit was a further advancement. Early electronic computers used vacuum tubes instead of transistors. As of 2014, all digital electronic computers are transistorized in the form of integrated circuits.
